PayPal Escape the Mall Challenge

December 15, 2010

For those of you following the story, I’ve been given $1,000 by PayPal to do some Christmas shopping for charity. The catch was that I’ve been challenged to spend half of the money shopping online and the other half at the mall. If you haven’t read the full story, you might want to do that [...]

The Domain Name Funnies from OpenSRS

June 29, 2010

We launched the Domain Name Funnies today at OpenSRS. It was a chance to be creative and connect with our resellers through humour within the industries we serve. The project has been simmering for a while, but other projects always seemed to take over (that’s probably a good thing). This week I finally set aside the [...]

Is it OK to Delete an Embarrassing Tweet?

June 25, 2010

Is it ok to delete a tweet on Twitter? There’s a tendency on the Internet, and within social media circles in particular, that any published content MUST remain on the Internet forever, regardless of the level of embarrassment, inaccuracy, or whatever. I don’t know where this “transparency or die” kind of attitude came from, but it’s not a rule that can’t be broken.

Which kind of LinkedIn user are you?

May 24, 2010

Did you realize there’s a holy war brewing amongst LinkedIn users? During a Twitter exchange last week with Chris Brogan, he touched a nerve that I didn’t even know I had. Hot dog vendor implements mobile carrier fee structure. Hilarious!

October 19, 2009

Looks like the folks at WIND Mobile (the Globalive team) have a great sense of humour as they prepare to go after the big mobile carriers. Don’t think mobile pricing is messed up in Canada? Then watch watch happens when a hot dog vendor tries to adapts traditional mobile billing fees to his own business:

I apply the ‘critical path method’ when brewing my morning coffee– Is that odd?

July 29, 2009
Thumbnail image for I apply the ‘critical path method’ when brewing my morning coffee– Is that odd?

It’s weird when you subconsciously apply project management principles when making your morning coffee, right? While making my coffee today, I got somewhat introspective on my several-times-daily coffee-making-habit. What I’m referring to as a “habit” may actually be a “quirk”,  which is why I felt compelled to write about it. Specifically, I wonder if this [...]

Thumbnail image for Electronic Arts declares victory in War against Canada

You didn’t hear the news? Neither did anybody else… Electronic Arts led a covert operation  and Canadians are only now learning of the details. The obvious tip was the Electronic Arts’ “The Sims” website where the United States of America flag refers to all of North America– including Canada. I realize that US and Canadian [...]
